I'm a New York transplant who moved to Richmond, VA in 2006 and began photographing professionally in a portrait studio. Within a year, I was managing a successful franchise. I left the studio to teach High School Photography while still photographing on the side. ​In 2016 the side gig became a full time career managing, Karen Gage Photography. I'm lucky to work with Virginia Bride Magazine and other Richmond area publications  to pursue creative outlets and editorial photography while still working photographing the real couples, big day. ​I have an unhealthy love of Halloween, tacos, tropical plants and dogs. My husband and daughter are the light and joy of my life.
