I'm so glad you're here!
I'm a New York transplant who moved to Richmond, VA, in 2006 and began photographing professionally in a local portrait studio. Within a year, I was managing a successful franchise. A few months later, I was approached to teach high school photography and left the studio behind. In 2016, the side gig became a full-time career when I decided to dedicate myself to Karen Gage Photography. I am fortunate to work with several Richmond-area publications, pursuing creative and editorial photography, while also continuing to photograph weddings, portraits, and events.
I have an unhealthy love of Halloween, tacos, tropical plants, and dogs. My husband and daughter have supported me every step of the way and are the light and joy of my life.

Shelby is a former photography student of Karen's and is currently attending college in Richmond, VA. She has been shooting for over 10 years and has had her photographic work on display on campus at James Madison University. Her talent isn't limited to portraits, as she has spent time abroad adventuring with Karen, photographing art, history, architecture, landscapes, and, of course, people.
What's an "Associate Photographer?"
-An experienced photographer, vetted and hired by Karen to photograph your wedding. With 15+ years in the industry, KGP has goto trusted and talented friends. Your chosen Associate will have the same professional gear and expertise as Karen, along with a similar style. They will be fully briefed on your wedding day from start to finish. Your original images will be delivered to Karen for final editing and delivery. All communication will flow through KGP.
